UP Muzaffarnagar: 100+ Injured as Kalinga Utkal Exp. Derails

Uttar Pradesh: Several people were injured after six coaches of 18477 Puri-Haridwar Utkal Express derailed near Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. According to reports a derailed bogie rammed into a house on side of the track.

ADG (Meerut Zone) Prashant Kumar said the number of injured persons was yet to be ascertained. However, eyeswitnessed said at least 20 people were wounded.

Railway ministry officials said they are still awaiting details of the accident that took place around 5:45 pm.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all possible help.
