Garment Trader Shot Dead After a Tense Standoff with a Neighbor

Moradabad: A garment trader was shot dead in the city late in the night. The businessman’s uncle and cousin have also been shot in the attack. Both have been referred to Delhi late in the delicate condition.

The incident happened in Khushaal Nagar adjacent to Malviya Nagar area of Kotwali. Shortly before the incident, there was a dispute with the trader’s neighbor about the road dispute. Constables posted on leopard took the injured businessman to the district hospital but in a short time, he died.

Neighbors carried out this bogus incident of murder. Rishi Katyal (35) S/O Naresh Katyal resident of Malviya Nagar in Kotwali Police Station area runs a garment shop. The incident happened on Thursday night when deceased was returning home with his uncle Virendra (50) and his son Prateek Katyal (22). According to relatives, there has been a dispute many times with a person who works as a bicycle trader living in the neighborhood.

In the afternoon on Thursday, there was also a dispute with the neighbor taking to the passage. According to the information on the night on the incident both the sides witnessed the contention on the issue. After which the accused started firing and the bullet hit Rishi Katyal, his uncle Virendra Katyal and his son Prateek.

Lepard police arrived at the spot after the information of the firing, and with the help of local people, promptly sent the injured to the district hospital. The doctors declared Rishi dead, while the Prateek and Virendra have been referred to Delhi in critical condition.  As soon as the incident was spread in the area the crowd gathered at Kotwali late at night. The incident report was not lodged till late in the night.
