New Delhi: Sheila Dikshit, Delhi’s longest serving chief minister and a Senior Congress leader passed away on Saturday at a private hospital in the city after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was 81.
She was the president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee and was the longest-serving Chief Minister of New Delhi, from 1998 to 2013. She had been unwell for a few months but was active in politics.
Her cremation will be held at the Nigambodh Ghat tomorrow. Dikshit’s mortal remains will be kept for people to pay homage at her residence in Nizamuddin, New Delhi from 6 pm today till tomorrow 11.30 am.
