NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation at 9 AM on Friday during which he made a major announcement that his government has decided to repeal the three controversial farm laws. “We have taken a big decision to repeal the three farm laws,” the PM said during his address to the nation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the country said, ‘Agricultural economists, scientists, progressive farmers also tried hard to make farmers understand the importance of agricultural laws. Today I have come to tell you, the whole country, that we have decided to withdraw all three agricultural laws.
PM Modi said that the three laws were brought for the benefit of farmers but “we couldn’t convince a section of farmers despite best efforts”. The goal of the three farm laws was to empower farmers, especially small farmers, he said.
