To achieve this, over 250 Auto Drivers, today endorsed the affiliation to the party on their vehicle with Shiv Sena’s banner with strong messaging such as ‘Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost’ with a picture of their beloved leader- Shri Eknath Shinde, who came from their fraternity and now heads the government of Maharashtra. Saluting Shiv Sena Chief Eknath Shinde and his welfare schemes in Maharashtra for unorganized sectors Delhi Auto Drivers raised the slogan ‘Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost’ to their emotional connect and support to the party.
Flagging off the auto rally, Shri Dhairyasheel Sambhajirao Mane assured auto drivers and their Unions that the party would act as a facilitator for their social welfare and financial support. “Maharashtra’s good governance is also manifested in its pro-people and inclusive growth schemes. Recently our Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has constituted a Welfare Board for auto and taxi drivers, and more than 3 crore workers in the unorganized sector are expected to benefit. Within two months of the Budgetary Announcement, he implemented welfare schemes,” Shri Mane emphasized.
The Auto Rickshaw Drivers in Delhi have been facing several pressing issues, including financing, licensing, and strict regulations imposed by the Kejriwal Government, which have adversely affected the livelihoods of auto-rickshaw drivers. Autorickshaw unions including Delhi Auto Rickshaw Sangh and Chaalak Shakti, with this massive rally, have accelerated their support to the party for taking up the issue of Autorickshaw’s permit black marketing.
Shiv Sena Delhi Unit has launched a campaign to press on the Delhi Government to form Delhi State Auto-Rickshaw and Taxi Owners’ Welfare Board and similar welfare schemes for other unorganized sectors.
“In Delhi, Shiv Sena would act as a facilitator for setting up social security and welfare Boards for auto and transport workers. On the pattern of Maharashtra, welfare and social security schemes would benefit unorganized sectors enormously,” said Anshumman Joshi, Chive Coordinator (Delhi and Goa) of Shiv Sena.
“Shiv Sena leaders and workers would also educate unorganized sector people to avail of the ‘Mudra’ loan and other financial support schemes of the Centre,” added Anshumman Joshi.
Showing solidarity and support for auto drivers Col. Devinder Sehrawat, Incharge, Delhi Unit, Shiv Sena said, “Shiv Sena would make all efforts to end Mafia Raj in the auto sector. There is no incentive for these unorganized sector workers. There are no schemes to upscale their skills and there is not a single social security cover for them. Our party Chief has assured our unwavering support in resolving the issues.”
“We have promised them to look into other issues such as auto stands, taxi stands, aggregator schemes, and a dozen other issues. It has also promised to all unorganized sector workers that Shiv Sena will facilitate the advancing of loans and other benefits at competitive rates. We would also press the state government to form a Driver Welfare Board, a long-standing demand of autorickshaw drivers,” concluded Shri Joshi.
