Ghaziabad. ABES Ghaziabad’s three-day annual sports festival ‘Utsah 2024’ was inaugurated with colourful fervour on Friday. ABES Engineering College’s President Neeraj Goyal, Vice President Sachin Goyal, General Secretary Shashwat Goyal, Advisor Raghunandan and Abhay Aggarwal jointly inaugurated the festival.
In this three-day sports festival, about 800 students from different faculties will perform in different sports competitions. Today, the colourful programmes of the students, equestrian and motorcycle parade were the centre of attraction.
In various sports held on the first day of the festival, Loknath Banerjee (IT), Hrithik Kumar (MCA) and Gaurav Kumar (CS) won the 100m sprint and reached the next round. In other matches, ECE won the football qualifier match between ECE vs ABESBS. CS branch won the volleyball qualifier match between CS vs ME branch and AIML was declared the winner in the women’s basketball match. Piyush Sharma in the 50 meter race of men’s singles and Ginni Vishwakarma in the 50 meter race of women’s singles made their place in the finals.
College Director Prof. D.K. Sharma motivated all the players to play in this competition with high level sportsmanship.
On the occasion of inauguration of Utsah, ABES Business School Director Prof. Ajay Singh, Dean Mohit Mishra, Media Incharge Prof. (Dr.) Tarun Kumar Arora, Sports Coordinator Manvendra Saha, Prabhat Singh, Dr. Devendra Adikar, Gaurav Chaudhary, Shivanshu Yadav, Devansh Singh, Srishti Varshneya etc. were present.
