Dehradun witnessed a massive public outpouring on the Ankita Bhandari murder case as the demand for a CBI investigation transformed into a large-scale people’s movement. Thousands of citizens gathered at Parade Ground and marched towards the Chief Minister’s residence, raising slogans for justice and transparency.

The protesters asserted that justice for Ankita can only be ensured through an independent and impartial CBI probe. The march progressed peacefully for nearly two kilometers before police stopped the crowd, citing security reasons. Heavy police deployment was seen at multiple points, creating tension in the area.

Despite barricades, protesters remained firm, stating that the issue has gone beyond social media campaigns and symbolic protests. “This is not just a post or hashtag anymore, it is a fight for justice,” many demonstrators said.

Public sentiment suggests growing distrust over the pace and direction of the investigation. Activists and local citizens warned that suppressing public voices with force would only intensify the movement.

The Ankita Bhandari case continues to resonate deeply across Uttarakhand, with increasing pressure on the state government to respond decisively to the demand for a CBI inquiry.
