Venkaiah Naidu’s farewell at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi: Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu was given farewell in the Rajya Sabha on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge and many other leaders gave farewell speech. When TMC MP Derek O’Brien gave the speech, Venkaiah got emotional and started wiping his tears.
Prime Minister Modi said, ‘Today the Speaker in the House, the President is the same people who were born in independent India. All come from simple backgrounds. It has symbolic significance. It is a symbol of new era in the country. Naidu is such a Vice President of the country, who in every role worked for the youth.
Modi said, ‘I was told that 25 per cent of the speeches you gave as Vice-President were on youth. Personally, I am fortunate to have seen you in different roles from close quarters. Got the opportunity to work side by side on many occasions. As worker, MLA, MP, BJP president, cabinet minister, your work has been beneficial for the country. As Vice-President and Chairman, I have seen you work diligently in different responsibilities. You never considered any work as a burden.
