Delhi-NCR on High Alert After Alleged Terror Attack in Amritsar

Ghaziabad: After the grenade attack in a religious camp in Amritsar, Delhi and NCR Region has been put on High Alert. Ghaziabad’s SSP Upendera Agarwal said that after the incident of Amritsar, police patrolling has been increased here and all the suspicious activities are being closely monitored. Police have been deployed at all sensitive places in Ghaziabad and nearby locations.

According to the news report, the attack was carried out by the bike riders. the attackers had covered their faces and there was no number on the bike number plate Said an Eyewitness. Three people died in a grenade attack on the Nirankari Dera located on the outskirts of Amritsar, while 10 people were injured.

Police said that this attack happened in Adilwal village of Rajasansi area of Amritsar. This area is located close to the international airport. When the attack took place, the religious program of people of the Nirankari group was going on in the campus. The Punjab Police’s IG SS, who visited the spot, said, ‘A grenade was thrown among the pilgrims. Three people were killed in this attack, while 10 people were injured. Two of the injured are in critical condition. All the victims in the attack are the Nirankari followers of the surrounding villages, who had gathered on Sunday for weekly religious gathering.

Security has also been tightened in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad and inter-state borders have been sealed.
