New Delhi: In the wake of the global pandemic affecting the livelihood of millions, Kansai Nerolac Paints Ltd. (KNPL) has extended its painter skilling program under Atmanirbhar Painting Contractor to Delhi NCR. As part of this program, Nerolac will facilitate training of 500 painters & 100 women in the first month, from Delhi in fumigation and sanitization services, to support them in acquiring new skills. Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Anuj Jain, Executive Director, Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited said, “This pandemic has created a huge financial challenge to many, including painters and daily wage workers. We are facilitating sanitization and fumigation service equipment and training for painters under – Atmanirbhar Painting Contractor to enable them to take up additional roles thereby supporting them with an alternate source of income. We kickstarted this program in Kochi in May 2020 and have received encouraging response”
Kansai Nerolac announced a first of its kind industry-wide initiative, titled #PaintTheirFuture, to extend a helping hand to the painter community in India. As part of this initiative, a crowd sourced fund has been created with GiveIndia to provide financial aid to painters in case they get infected by the novel Coronavirus. Further, anticipating the financial adversity that the situation was about to have on people at large, especially the daily-wage earners, the brand announced an early disbursement of funds to its painter community falling under the Nerolac Premium Painter Pragati (NPP Pragati) Programme. The initiative provided much needed interim relief to over 30,000 painters.
