NEW DELHI — Outgoing DSGMC president MS Sirsa came under heavy Panthak fire after a video of vulgar filmy songs being sung at the Covid facility in the Lakhi Shah Vanjara Hall went viral.

“Medics are seen singing ‘Badan Pe Sitare Lapete Hue’ to entertain patients housed in the Lakhi Shah Vanjara Hall on the sacred compound of Sri Rakab Ganj Sahib. They are using microphones. Sirsa green-lighted this audacious violation of Panthak Maryada just to secure cheap publicity for himself,” SADD secretary-general Harvinder Singh Sarna said.

Last year, the same Sirsa proposed to cut a cake at Sri Rakab Ganj Sahib to celebrate the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the SADD leader recalled.

“He allowed Karva Chauth celebrations at Sri Bangla Sahib, paraded Guru Sahiban in idols at Nagar Kirtans, sent Sri Guru Harkrishan Patshah to quarantine, called Chaar Sahibzadey ‘baal’, or kids, when they are addressed as Babas, and twisted sacred Sikh history to suit his political ideology. This time he has thrown open a historical gurdwara to song and dance routines. Never ever any president of a Sikh religious administration worldwide did what he has done in what appears to be a carpet bombing of Panthak Maryada and Siddhant,” the SADD leader said.

Sardar Sarna advised Sirsa to take a sabbatical and use that time in learning some basic lessons in Sikhi.
