Mussoorie: The Queen of Hills, Mussoorie, has recorded a sharp drop in the temperature due to light rain since morning, due to which suddenly the cold has increased in Mussoorie, people have to resort to warm clothes to avoid the cold. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rain in Uttarakhand on October 18. In view of the Meteorological Department’s alert of heavy rains for the next two days, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has appealed to all the concerned officials to be alert and take special care to the tourists and the pilgrims going on Char Dham Yatra. At the same time, the officials have been directed to be on alert and to provide immediate relief to the affected in case of any incident. While giving instructions to take special care on the Char Dham road, he has appealed to the devotees and tourists to take precautions. Dehradun District Magistrate Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar has issued instructions to keep all schools and Anganwadi centers in the district closed on October 18 in view of the warning of heavy rains. Tourists have started returning to their homes in Mussoorie after heavy rain alert. Let us inform that for the last three days, a huge crowd of tourists was seen in Mussoorie, but after the alert of the Meteorological Department on Monday, tourists in Mussoorie have remained negligible. The local administration and police are also keeping a close watch on the landslide area near the Mussoorie Dehradun Gallogi Power House. JCB has been deployed by the Public Works Department at the landslide area so that if the debris and stones on the road after the landslide occur, the JCB can be removed. The route can be made smooth by removing the through. SDM Mussoorie Manish Kumar has also appealed to all the people to be alert and not to come out of their homes unnecessarily in heavy rains.
