WSCC Team led by President, Parmeet singh chadha, took part in Bhai Jaita ji Pad Yatra from Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Chandni Chowk to Bhagpat Gurdwara on occasion of Shaheedi Divas of Guru Teg Bahadur sahib ji. This yatra was conceptualized by S.Charan Singh Bhatia, S.RS Ahuja, S.Charanjeet singh and others to highlight this neglected part of history and let the Sangat including youth know about this journey of Sees from Chandni Chowk to Anand Pur Sahib via Bhagpat.

Guru Tegh Bahadur sahib ji, Ninth Sikh Guru, made the supreme sacrifice to protect the religious freedom of oppressed Kashmiri Pandits. At that time, Bhai Jaita, a devoted Sikh came forward and picked up Guru’s severed head (Sheesh) swiftly from the site, covered it respectfully and slipped out of the crowd for onward journey.

Avoiding the Mughul forces, Bhai Jaita started his journey with Sheesh from Delhi with first night’s halt at Baghpat and reached Anandpur Sahib in Punjab and offered the sacred Sheesh respectfully to Guru Tegh Bahadar’s son Guru Gobind Singh.
A small Gurdwara is built by local Hindu sangat and sewa is done by nearby Ladies.
To commemorate this journey and to preserve our heritage, pad yatra from Delhi was started at 8.30am from Gurdwara Sis Ganj, and Ended at 5.30pm in evening at Bhagpat Gurdwara.Head Granthi Harnam singh ji did Ardaas and flagged off the Yatra. The sangat was welcomed by Bhagpat sangat and Kirtan darbar was held followed by Langar.
Parmeet singh chadha, President WSCC, who was present at the start of Pad yatra said this initiative is a milestone and would organise Car and Bike rally in next coming months to promote this historic place among Delhi and Other Sangat.
Dr Chadha also said History and Heritage must be preserved at any cost and brought forward so that sangat can visit these places.He made and appeal to make a Historical Gurdwara on Main Delhi Bhagpat road near Yamuna. He also urged his members to come forward and visit this Gurdwara once a year.
