Srila Prabhupada’s 150th Memorial Festival Program

New Delhi: Gaudiya Mission, the pioneer of Vaishnavism and Naam Kirtan tradition, is celebrating the 150th Smriti Mahotsav of its Guru Pratishtata Acharya Srila Prabhupada (Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhupada). On this occasion, a three-day ‘World Vaishnav Conference’ is being organized. The event will begin on February 6 and a special inauguration ceremony will be held on February 8.

The main program of 8 February will be held at Bharat Mandapam located at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. The program will be presided over by Prime Minister *Honorable Shri Narendra Modi*, while Law Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal will have the dignified presence. Apart from this, in the second part of the program, there will be an international seminar on Vaishnavism in the afternoon in which prominent dignitaries will address the topic of Global Security and Sustainability.

*Bhakti Sundar Sanyasi Maharaj*, President of Gaudiya Mission, informed about the program, — Gaudiya Mission was started to spread the teachings of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in the society, Srila Prabhupada was the founder Acharya of Gaudiya Mission, he showed the path of human welfare to the people through Harinam Kirtan. Hare Krishna movement is his contribution, He started it at first.

It is a great privilege for all of us to have Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji attending this program on his 150th birth anniversary. On this occasion, the Prime Minister will release coins and postage stamps dedicated to Srila Prabhupada with his own hands. Vaishnav Acharyas and Sadhus will come from India and abroad to participate in this program and Gaudiya Mission Hauz Khas will be responsible for the arrangements of the program along with the support of the saints of Shri Chaitanya Gaudiya Math, Shri Raman Vihari Gaudiya Math and Shri Gaudiya Sangh Delhi.

The three-day program will start with Mangaladhivas Mahotsav on 6th February in which Sankirtan will be held in the Gaudiya Maths of Janakpur, Paharganj, Karol Bagh and Hauz Khas. On 7th February, Vishal Nagar Sankirtan Shobhayatra will be held in which there will be Hari Naam Sankirtan and dance with 150 Mridang Kartals. It will start from Ramlila Ground and end at Bharat Mandapam.

On February 8, the main program will start at Bharat Mandapam from 10 AM and in the evening, as part of the cultural programme, there will be great dance, bowl music and the program will end with Mahaprasadam.

UNESCO has given its approval to the proposal of Gaudiya Mission on the birth anniversary celebrations of Srila Prabhupada through the Government of India.
