UP | For hours, a woman staged a high-voltage drama by climbing onto the roof of Tarabganj tehsil, repeatedly threatening to commit suicide. The woman, identified as Pranpata, a resident of Harivanshpur village, was eventually brought down safely after the SDM intervened.
The incident occurred around 3:00 pm at the Tarabganj tehsil premises in Gonda district. Pranpata was angry about a land measurement issue and climbed onto the roof of the tehsil, sitting on the wall and threatening to take her own life.
Tarabganj SDM Rajiv Mohan Saxena rushed to the spot as soon as he received information about the commotion. After hours of persuasion, he managed to assure Pranpata and bring her down safely.
According to reports, Pranpata had been illegally occupying land belonging to Ram Murat, a resident of the same village. Ram Murat had filed a case under Section 24 in the SDM court in Tarabganj tehsil, seeking action against Pranpata.
The SDM court had ordered the measurement of the land and its fencing. Revenue Inspector Javed and his team had gone to implement the order, which led to Pranpata’s outburst.
In an attempt to pressure the tehsil administration, Pranpata disrupted the normal functioning of the office for hours.
