Gurugram : India’s rich spiritual legacy is steadily establishing the nation as a global guide, Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan said while inaugurating the “Rajat-Rashmiyan” silver jubilee celebrations at the Brahma Kumaris’ Om Shanti Retreat Centre (OSRC) in Bahora Kalan, Gurugram. Addressing thousands of participants, he emphasized that the teachings of ancient sages, meditation practices like Rajyoga and Vipassana, and India’s deep-rooted spiritual discipline continue to inspire the world toward peace, inner strength, and truth.

The Vice President formally launched the year-long silver jubilee programs, where he received a warm welcome from Haryana’s Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, along with senior dignitaries of the Brahma Kumaris organization including Rajyogini BK Asha, BK Vedanti, BK Karuna, BK Shukla, and others.

In his keynote address, Radhakrishnan said that meditation brings harmony to the mind, soul, and body, creating a space for positive thoughts and inner energy. He noted that the diverse presence of professionals—from aviation, medicine, administration, science, social service, and public life—proved that mental peace and spiritual connection are universal human needs.

Quoting from the Bhagavad Gita, he said that victory begins with conquering one’s own mind. He added that positivity, humility, and service are essential for true peace. Referring to the teachings of Tamil philosopher Thiruvalluvar, he reminded the gathering that life’s next moment is never certain, but good deeds and compassion ensure lasting tranquility. He appreciated the Brahma Kumaris for their global contribution to spiritual education and humanitarian work.

Highlighting India’s humanitarian values, he recalled how Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured free COVID-19 vaccines for many nations, calling it a powerful example of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the world is one family. He said that spirituality is India’s greatest strength and resides within every individual, waiting to be awakened and practiced.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that spirituality is not tied to any one religion but is a way of understanding the essence of life. Harmony, goodwill, and positive thinking, he added, naturally lead to a balanced and beautiful life. Spiritual awareness, according to him, gives clarity of thought, helps individuals face challenges with confidence, and guides them toward meaningful success.

Brahma Kumaris General Secretary Rajyogi BK Karuna highlighted that the organization is the world’s largest spiritual institution led by women, with thousands of centers across more than 110 countries. OSRC Director Rajyogini Asha Didi said that ego is the root of human weaknesses and that only spiritual wisdom can bring true transformation. She also shared details about the upcoming year-long programs under the Rajat-Rashmiyan theme, including the “Mera Ghar Swarg Abhiyan.”

Rajyogini Vedanti Didi, Coordinator for the Africa region, guided participants through a deep meditation experience. A welcome song was presented by Dr. Damini from Ahmedabad, followed by a cultural performance by OSRC members. The program was conducted by Rajyoga teacher BK Husein, and drew more than 4,000 participants from across the region.

The event was attended by many dignitaries including Vice President’s Secretary Amit Khare, DC Ajay Kumar, Joint CP Sangeeta Kalia, DCP Traffic Rajesh Mohan, SDM Dinesh Luhach, and several other prominent officials.
