Kanpur/Noid : Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force arrested a drug smuggler from Kanpur railway station and seized 650 gm heroin whose price in international market is worth Rs 65 lacs.
The connection of arrested alleged drug smuggler can not be ruled out from an International drug racketeers gang operating from Myanmar, Afganistan and India which are defined as golden triangle of drug racket in Asia and further drugs move in other parts of areas in these countries covering almost all parts which are under drug supply and it’s influence.
The arrested could be made possible following arrest of other accused last month by STF itself. During interrogation of previously arrested drug suppliers, STF got very important inputs and other related clues, it’s modus operandi about operating drug smuggler gang who used to get supply in West Bengal and other North Eastern states from Myanmar and there after further other gang members used to further supply it other parts of country.
On a tipp off STF got clues of one Rajat Gupta of Bareilly who used to receive supply from West Bengal and ither NE states and further supply drugs to various other areas of UP. This time the said Rajat Gupta had received a consignment of 650 gms of heroine worth 65 lacs from West Bengal by this gang members and further which was to be delivered at Bareilly.
STF got input that this time Rajat Gupta is said to be travelling Rajdhani express alongwith banned drugs and will get down at Kanpur railway station and further from there he will travel in vehicle to Bareilly. The STF team alongwith informant was waiting at the exit gate of Kanpur station to nab said Rajat Gupta. When Rajdhani Express arrived and passengers started coming out from the station, the STF informant recognised Gupta on which STF team lead by STF Inspector Anjani Kumar Tiwari under guidance of DSP P K Mishra detained Gupta and thouroughly checked his belongings. During checking of water jug the heroine was found kept in a special place was made into it to fit and keep 650 gms of heroine in the said water jug worth Rs 65 lac in international market, which was seized. STF team also seized Milton brand 2 litre water jug, Rs 1000 cash, a railway penalty recipt worth Rs 10170/- , a mobile phone, an AADHAR card and a watch from the possession of Rajat Gupta.
During interrogation of Gupta STF team came to know that the banned drug was to be supplied in Bareilly and Gupta was to move to Bareilly by car, after coming out from Kanpur railway station.
The SSP STF Abhishek Singh updated A News Of India about the arrested drug supplier, ” when we had arrested other drug suppliers few days back we got very important clues about operating drug suppliers in UP after receiving consignment from West Bengal which enters India through Myanmar. Since then we were working on the inputs and we had certain information about this arrested drug supplier. Our team worked on it and our informant updated us of this consignment bound to be for Bareilly, coming in Rajdhani Express which will be boarded at Kanpur railway station and further to Bareilly by road. STF was awaiting at the exit gate of the Kanpur railway station after STF informant recognised Rajat Gupta, the team detained him and thouroughly checked his all belongings in which we found 650 gms of heroin kept in Milton brand 2 water jug after creating a separate place to place it. STF team has arrested Gupta and further needful enquiry are being carried out.”
