Paris : Following recent unrest in Nepal, France has now witnessed a wave of violent protests. Demonstrations broke out across Paris and several other cities, turning into large-scale clashes between protesters and police.
Protesters, angered by government policies and frequent changes in prime ministers, set vehicles on fire and vandalized public property. Incidents of arson and destruction were reported from multiple locations, with thick smoke filling parts of the capital.
Clashes escalated as demonstrators hurled objects at security forces, prompting a strong police response. Authorities confirmed that at least 200 protesters have been arrested so far.
The unrest highlights deepening frustration among citizens, who accuse the government of instability and failing to address public grievances.
