Delhi: Selflessness is essential for service to humanity. It is quite
distinct from help or assistance, where one always expects something in return. Devotees,
however, are always ready to serve humanity selflessly and they seek every opportunity for the same.
This was observed by Nirankari Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj while
inaugurating mega blood donation camp here today. In all, 1327 devotees of the Mission
donated their blood.
Besides Delhi, blood donation camps were also organized today at 81 places across
the country. These camps were organized as a part of Manav Ekta Diwas Samagam today.
The Sant Nirankari Mission`s Branches, numbering about 3000 throughout the country held
special Satsang Programme to pay tribute to Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji and hundreds of
devotees who laid down their lives while crusading for Truth, love and unity.
Satguru Mata Ji said that blood donation camps organized by Sant Nirankari Mandal
and the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation for the past several years have always offered an opportunity to devotees, particularly the youth to come forward for this noble service to mankind. And they are always there in large numbers because they treat service to humanity as a means to express their devotion to God.
Her Holiness said such a spirit of selfless service is acutely lacking in the world,
where everybody is self centred. Hence, such efforts by devotees are the need of the time.
Earlier, Brig. P.S. Cheema, General Secretary of the Sant Nirankari Mandal and
Member Incharge, Medical Health and Social Welfare department, welcomed Satguru Mata
Ji and said that we always witness this enthusiasm on the part of devotees to donate their
blood. In fact they are guided by the words of Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj that ‘blood
should flow in veins, not in drains’ and they take it as a part of devotion to do this noble
service to mankind. He said that since 1986, the Mission has organized 6076 blood donation camps in the country and donated 10,36,560 units of blood. He sought the divine blessings from Satguru Mata Ji so that devotees continue to have this selfless spirit of service to humanity in future also.
Speaking on the occasion, Rev Bindiya Chhabra Ji, Executive President of the Sant
Nirankari Charitable Foundation said that besides blood donation camps the Foundation
carries out serval other activities also for the welfare of the masses throughout the year. She said that the youth is coming forward with great enthusiasm to participate.
In today’s blood donation camps, the blood collecting teams came from Guru Teg
Bahadur Hospital, Dr. Hadgewar, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, Safdarjung Hospital, G.B. Pant,
Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Kasturba Gandhi, Sucheta Kriplani,
Bara Hindu Rao, LNJP Hospital, Indian Red Cross Society and AIIMS – CNC. Special care
was taken about cleanliness, pre-donation tests and post-donation care of the donors.
