Omega Seiki Mobility to invest INR 200 Crores, plans to open new manufacturing facility in Karnataka

Company is coming up with Cold storage in Kakinada to provide COVID 19 Vaccines (in collaboration with Trans ACNR for reefer trucks) deliveries in small towns

New Delhi: Omega Seiki Mobility Pvt. Ltd., part of the Anglian Omega Group, plans to open a new state of the art manufacturing unit in Karnataka. The company will be investing 200 crores by 2021. In order to combat COVID 19 and provide easy access to people at large, Omega Seiki Mobility Company is coming up with a cold storage in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh to assist COVID 19 Vaccines (in collaboration with Trans ACNR for reefer trucks) deliveries in small towns.

Omega Seiki Mobility has lately partnered with Transport Air- Conditioning and Refrigeration- TRANS ACNR which specialises in providing the best of Bus Air- Conditioning and Transport Refrigeration systems, across the world. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for joint working on refrigerated containerised electric vehicles with lithium-ion batteries. At the start of the collaboration, both parties have identified the following projects to work on jointly such as, “design, develop and make a prototype sample for refrigerated unit and insulated box for electric –three wheeler Rage+”.

Commenting on the investment Mr. Uday Narang, Chairman Omega Seiki Mobility said “We have multiple manufacturing sites in Delhi/NCR and we also plans to have around 200 dealerships across the country by the end of next year. It has earmarked an initial investment of Rs 200 crore for the projects and going ahead aims to raise another Rs 1,000 crore in order to fund the expansion plans.”

Mr. Narang, further added on expansion plans “We have tie ups for Dealerships with CK motors for sales and services of our entire electric three-wheeler range in South India. We are soon coming up with a dealership in Pune. We are also exploring dealerships opportunities in UP and Gujarat. Besides these expansion plans, Pan India we are reaching out to E-commerce companies for fleet tie ups.”

Omega Seiki Mobility launched Rage & Rage+ on Auto Expo 2020, which will primarily cater to the B2B segment. The introduction of the vehicles will usher a whole new concept in emission-free cargo transportation and people movement. The company also unveiled smart electric commercial and passenger vehicles for the B2B and B2C market segment in November 2020. The new range of the electric vehicle includes three products Sun Ri (three-wheeler cargo), Ride (E-rickshaw), and Stream (passenger auto-rickshaw) having smart mobility features. Going forward, the cargo vehicle will provide a much-needed impetus to companies in the B2B and ecommerce segment. Also, Omega Seiki will be rolling out electric two-wheelers by January 2021 and electric pickup trucks within the next three years.

The government is offering incentives on the purchase of electric vehicles to provide relief to the end consumer. Mr. Deb Mukherji, Managing Director, Omega Seiki Mobility “We will be passing on the incentives provided by the government by pricing our product better to make it more affordable to the customers”.
