Mumbai Hostage Drama: 17 Children Rescued, Accused Killed in Police Operation

Mumbai : witnessed a shocking incident on Thursday afternoon when 15–20 children were allegedly held hostage inside RA Acting Studio in Powai. The accused, identified as Rohit Arya, had reportedly called the children for an acting audition before locking them inside the premises.

According to police reports, Arya barricaded the studio and threatened to set it on fire if his “questions were not answered.” He even released a video claiming, “I am not a terrorist, I just want moral answers.” The video quickly went viral, creating panic across social media.

A swift police response followed, with teams surrounding the building and launching a rescue operation. After nearly two hours of tension, officers cut through the studio’s grill to enter and successfully rescued 17 children and two adults unharmed.

During the confrontation, Rohit Arya was injured and later declared dead. Police also recovered an air gun and chemical substances from the spot.

Authorities are now investigating Arya’s motives and mental state. Meanwhile, all rescued children have been reunited safely with their parents. The dramatic incident has left Mumbai shocked and raised serious concerns over security and child safety in acting institutes.
