Indian Markets Rally Strongly; Sensex Jumps 388 Points, Nifty Crosses 26,000

Mumbai/New Delhi : Indian equity markehts started the week on a strong note, closing higher on Monday with robust gains across key indices. The 30-share BSE Sensex surged 388.17 points, or 0.46%, to settle at 84,950.95.

Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty 50 also advanced, rising 103.40 points, or 0.40%, to close above the crucial 26,000 mark at 26,013.45.

Market sentiment was buoyed by strength in domestic equities and a decline in global crude oil prices, which provided additional support to investor confidence.

In the currency market, the Indian rupee appreciated by three paise against the US dollar, ending the session at a provisional 88.63. The currency’s uptick was attributed to positive movement in local stocks and easing crude prices in international markets.

Overall, the upbeat start to the week reflects steady investor optimism amid improved global cues.
