Bulandshahr: A man accused in a sensational triple murder case in Bulandshahr was killed in a police encounter early Thursday, officials said. The accused, identified as Jeetu Saini, carried a reward of ₹50,000 on his arrest and had been absconding since the incident.
According to police, the crime took place in Khurja where a birthday celebration at a local gym turned violent. Jeetu Saini allegedly attacked three youths—Manish Saini, Amardeep Saini, and Akash Saini—after an argument reportedly triggered by smearing cake on his face. In a fit of rage, he is said to have opened fire, killing all three on the spot and sparking panic in the area.
Police launched a manhunt soon after the incident, registering a case against 11 named accused. Three suspects were earlier arrested after sustaining gunshot injuries during separate encounters and have since been sent to जेल. Jeetu Saini, however, remained on the run.
Acting on a tip-off about his location, a police team attempted to intercept him on Thursday morning. Officials said Saini opened fire at the पुलिस party, prompting retaliatory action. He was critically injured in the exchange and later declared dead.
During the encounter, Inspector Mohd. Aslam and another police personnel also sustained bullet injuries. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital and are reported to be out of danger.
Police officials stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining accused, who are still at large. The incident has drawn widespread attention, raising concerns over rising violence and the ease with which minor disputes escalate into fatal crimes.
