Katra, Jammu & Kashmir: The trekking route from Ardhkuwari to Bhawan on the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage has been temporarily blocked after a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall. Large rocks and debris crashed onto the pathway, damaging the covered walkway and forcing authorities to suspend movement on the affected stretch to ensure the safety of pilgrims.
Officials of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and emergency response teams rushed to the site soon after the incident. Clearance operations are currently underway to remove the debris and assess the structural damage caused by the landslide. No casualties have been officially reported so far.
Pilgrims have been advised to avoid the affected route and use the alternate path until restoration work is completed. Authorities are continuously monitoring the weather conditions and have assured that the route will be reopened only after it is declared completely safe for devotees.
