How to avoid relocation scams: Movers Federation India

New Delhi: Scams by fraudulent Packers and movers companies is a common instance for many years. Scamsters target consumers by offering low bid estimates and then disappear with goods and vehicles .

No delivery of goods on deadline , demanding for more money before delivery of goods, partial theft of goods in transit and no insurance of goods despite insurance charge billed are some other usual malpractices by rogue packers and movers companies .

Some good samaritans with founder Aji Sharma (Bangalore) from Relocation Industry decided to set up Movers Federation of India (MFI ) in 2018 to make things better and save this billion dollars industry.

MFI filters and choose best packers and movers companies under its umbrella, train them to use latest technologies and human resource methods to provide hassle free services for consumers. This organisation also runs campaigns to make people aware about the scams by fake packers and movers companies which have been mushroomed in every city.

MFI organised it’s 5th National conference on 25th and 26th March in Leela hotel , Delhi. It’s spokesperson & Secretary Anoop Mishra says “MFI is committed for the high standards of quality work in the industry and monitors each and every member for this . We have zero tolerance for any black sheep in our organization. We expel immediately if any member being found guilty of any malpractices . We also consider that adopting a name similar to any reputed company is a complete nuisance as it misguide consumers and will not enrol such companies as our members.
We have adopted principles of Swachh Bharat and also want to stop or reduce use of plastic materials for packaging. We promote environment friendly fabrics like reusable cloth blankets. All of our members have taken oath to do the business with honesty and wowed to provide best services to their clients.”

Alok Bhargava, MFI has advised relocation industry to adopt new techniques and methods to face the challenges posed by COVID pandemic . It has emphasized on online tracking, E billing, Cash-less tractions, Video surveys and contactless deliveries . MFI stated that it has been helping victims of fake packers and movers companies and claimed to have recovered their goods and vehicles from fraudsters in different cities in India .

According to MFI , Relocation industry worths 5 billion Dollars in India and provides employment to millions of people . Industry has suffered the most during Covid pandemic .It’s Chairman Ajeet Sharma and founders Jatin Gulati and Ramesh Jangra has requested government of India to grant a relief package for the relocation industry.
