The Supreme Court has given a big decision regarding matching of slips with VVPAT. The court today rejected pleas seeking full cross-verification of votes cast using VVPATs along with EVMs.
The bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta has given its verdict on several PILs filed in this regard. Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) organization and some others had filed petitions in the Supreme Court demanding 100 percent matching of VVPAT slips with EVMs.
1. Demand for full cross-verification of votes cast using VVPAT with EVMs rejected.
2. The court also rejected the demand for elections through ballot paper.
3. Election Commission said- No tampering is possible in EVM and VVPAT.
