Ghaziabad, October 14, 2026: The Ghaziabad district administration has cancelled the allotments of six ineligible beneficiaries under the Kanshi Ram Housing Scheme following a verification drive. Notices have also been issued to 11 beneficiaries after irregularities were identified during the first phase of the investigation.
The administration stated that the campaign aims to ensure that government housing benefits reach eligible beneficiaries and prevent the misuse of allotted houses.
Verification Drive Under the District Magistrate’s Directions
The verification campaign is being conducted under the direction of District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandar and the leadership of Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Jyoti Maurya.
During public grievance hearings, the administration received several complaints regarding alleged irregularities under the scheme. The complaints included allegations that houses had been allotted to ineligible individuals, some beneficiaries had sold their allotted houses and left, certain houses had been rented out, and several properties had remained locked and unoccupied for a long period.
Taking serious note of these complaints, the district administration initiated physical inspections and verification of the allotted houses.
400 Houses Identified for Inspection
A total of 400 houses have been identified for verification under the campaign. A team constituted under the leadership of the Additional District Magistrate (Administration) is conducting on-site inspections and examining relevant records to establish the actual status of the properties and verify beneficiary eligibility.
During the first phase of the investigation, notices were issued to 11 beneficiaries after irregularities were identified. The allotments of six beneficiaries were cancelled after they were found ineligible.
Ensuring Housing Benefits Reach Eligible Beneficiaries
District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandar stated that complaints received during public grievance hearings would be taken seriously and investigated in accordance with the applicable rules.
He emphasised that the benefits of government welfare schemes must reach the genuinely eligible beneficiaries and that the verification drive would continue to prevent the improper use of allotted houses.
The campaign aims to improve transparency in the implementation of the Kanshi Ram Housing Scheme, protect the interests of eligible beneficiaries, and prevent the unauthorised use of government-allotted housing.
