A special “Parkinson’s Disease Patient Awareness Program” was organized at the Brain Clinic located in Pratap Vihar, Ghaziabad, with the aim of spreading awareness about Parkinson’s disease among the general public and family members of patients.

During the program, senior neurologist Dr. Rakesh Kumar (MBBS, MD, DM) educated patients and their caregivers about the symptoms, treatment, and management of Parkinson’s disease. He explained that Parkinson’s is a neurological disorder that can cause symptoms such as tremors in the hands, difficulty in walking, body stiffness, loss of balance, and speech-related problems. He emphasized that timely diagnosis and proper care can significantly improve the quality of life of patients.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar also highlighted the important role of family members in caring for Parkinson’s patients. He stated that treatment is not limited to medicines alone, but also requires emotional support, regular exercise, a balanced diet, and a safe environment. He advised patients to maintain physical activity, take medicines on time, and stay in a positive mental environment.

As part of the “Movement of Joy” campaign, an awareness rally and public outreach activities were also conducted during the event. Volunteers and healthcare workers encouraged people to spread awareness about Parkinson’s disease. Participants carried posters and placards with awareness messages, motivating the public to identify early symptoms and seek timely medical consultation.

A large number of patients, caregivers, and local residents attended the camp and appreciated the initiative, calling it highly beneficial for society. The key message of the program was that “timely awareness and family support can help improve the lives of Parkinson’s patients.”
