Lucknow: In a major relief for teachers and education department employees in Uttar Pradesh, the state government’s Chief Minister Teacher Cashless Medical Scheme is in its final stage of implementation. The trial run of the scheme’s dedicated portal has begun, and preparations for its launch are nearing completion.

According to officials, data of more than 3.5 lakh teachers and employees has already been compiled. A special data sanitization process is currently underway to rectify errors and ensure that all eligible beneficiaries can avail of the scheme without any issues.

Under the scheme, teachers and employees will be entitled to cashless medical treatment coverage of up to ₹5 lakh. The benefit will be available at empanelled government as well as private hospitals.

A key feature of the scheme is that not only teachers and employees but also their dependent family members will be covered. Health cards will be issued to eligible beneficiaries, enabling them to access cashless treatment facilities.

The government believes that the initiative will provide greater health security to teachers and their families while significantly reducing the financial burden of medical expenses.
