Rotary International’s Cleanliness Campaign Started Under the leadership of Mayor and Municipal Commissioner Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad. On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, a record 172-hour long cleanliness campaign was launched by Rotary International at JKG International School in Vijay Nagar Zone. A large number of people including Mayor Asha Sharma, Municipal Commissioner Mahendra Singh Tanwar, Rotary Governor Ashok Aggarwal started cleaning the area with a broom in their hands. Earlier, while garlanding the portrait of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, the special guest of the program Shri Tanwar said that Ghaziabad is included in the category of top cities in the country in the field of cleanliness. But with the cooperation of citizens and employees, it has to be made the best city. He said that it is a matter of pride for us that we are going to set a world record in the field of cleanliness. Appreciating the initiative of Rotary International, Shri Tanwar said that the dream of our Prime Minister is to make every city of the country garbage free. We are happy that we are playing a key role in realizing the dream of the Prime Minister. Expressing gratitude to Rotary International for the cleanliness campaign, he said that it is a pleasure to repeat Gandhiji’s motto. There can be no better occasion for this great campaign than today.
Mayor Asha Sharma, the chief guest of the campaign said that we are included in the list of top cities in the field of cleanliness, but Indore’s name is taken before us. She said that we should try our best in the field of cleanliness. Look like Indore. The credit for bringing Ghaziabad to the ranks of the top cities goes to our citizens, councilors and corporation workers. She said that the role played by all of us in realizing the dream of the Prime Minister has to be maintained at any cost. He said that with the cooperation of Rotary International, we are close to making a world record. Which will prove to be our great achievement.
The head of the campaign and Rotary District Governor Rotarian Ashok Aggarwal expressed his gratitude to the Chief Municipal Commissioner Mr. Tanwar, Mayor Mrs. Asha Sharma, Rotarians, corporation workers, councilors that without all of you it was not possible to move towards the world record. On this occasion former Governor Sharat Jain, Ro. Vinod Goyal, Councilor Vikas Khari, Sunil Yadav, Surendra Nagar, Surendra Sen, Asif Chaudhary, First Lady Rotarian Aruna Agarwal, Ro. Surendra Sharma, Mr. Jogendra Singh, Ro. Amita Mahendru, Ro. Dr. Rajeev Goyal, Ro. Arun Agarwal, Ro. Prem Maheshwari, Dr. K. Of. Gupta, Ro. Bhanu Gupta, Ro. Amit Gupta, Mr. Dheeraj Bhargava, Ro. Tarun Gaur, Ro. Reena Agarwal, Ro. Rakesh Devgan, Ro. Rakesh Agarwal, Ro. Varun Sharma and others were present. Swachhta Mahabhiyan was started under the leadership of Asif Khan. Program was Conducted by Ro. Ravi Bali. Former governor and pioneer of the cleanliness campaign, Ro. J. K. Gaur expressed his gratitude to all the visitors and guests.
