The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rain in Uttarakhand on October 18. Tourists have started returning to their homes in Mussoorie after heavy rain alert. The local administration and police are also keeping a close watch on the landslide area near the Mussoorie Dehradun Gallogi Power House. JCB has been deployed by the Public Works Department at the landslide area so that if the debris and stones on the road after the landslide occur, the JCB can be removed.
