In a major administrative action, the Uttar Pradesh government has suspended Etah’s Chief Development Officer (CDO) Nagendra Narayan Mishra after a video allegedly showing a bribery incident went viral on social media.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya informed about the action through a post on the social media platform X. He stated that strict action has been taken in the matter and that the officer has been suspended with immediate effect.
According to the statement, departmental proceedings have also been initiated against Mishra under Rule 7, indicating a formal inquiry into the allegations. The decision came after the alleged bribery video gained widespread attention online.
The state government has reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability in administration. Officials said that any misconduct or corruption by government officers will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those found guilty after investigation.
The suspension of the Etah CDO has sparked discussion in administrative circles, while authorities are expected to conduct a detailed probe into the viral video to determine the facts of the case.
